Construction of Ahtme plant of ash-shade sand goods started in1958. On the
The industrial complex was built for processing of shaly ashes from which light reinforced concrete and aerocrete were produced.
In 1965 the enterprise started to produce building structures from reinforced concrete and details for building industrial and administrative quarters.
In 1968 the Kohtla -Jarve mineral wool plant became part of the Ahtme Building material Industrial complex (AKSM). This helped to begin manufacturing various mineral wool goods. This manufacturing was the only one in Estonia. The manufactured products were sold in Estonia and abroad.
In 1974 reinforce department started to work. The Industrial complex became significant manufacturer of building materials employing more than 1200 people.
The materials of AKSM were used in building such big objects in Estonia like Hotel Olümpia, Olimpic Center of sailing sport (1980), the House of Trade Unions, a hospital in Tallinn, mines and open-pit mines.
AKSM production was used in practically all residential, manufacturing and social-cultural objects.
The company existed under the name of AKSM until 1992. Due to the cessation of big manufacturing building processes there was no longer need to produce industrial reinforced concrete.
In 1994 the manufacturing was forced to close down because of the age and inefficiency of machinery.
However, the administration managed to save the primordial activity category by organizing a manufacture of small ash- shade sand wall blocks.
Since
Keeping the basic form of activities in manufacturing building materials we develop whole sales of materials for building and renovation.
In year 2002 we decided to reestablish the manufacturing line of reinforced concrete using as a basis concrete and lime produced in Estonia. Besides, the new technological line gives higher geometrical accuracy of sizes, which allows to glue these parts together easier and makes our production more compatible.
